General

The P-Series Card Drives for PCI bus are a range of PCI bus plug-in cards to provide PCMCIA interface with 1 or 2 card slots. For use in desktop PC's for all types of PC Cards - including memory, ATA, data acquisition, data communications etc.

As the PCI bus becomes the dominant peripheral interconnect system, the need to provide fast PCMCIA card slot on desktop PC's now demands a new facility.

The series of internal and external PC Card Drives offers a range of options for the end user, engineering developers and OEM systems integrators. A choice of modules provides solutions for all applications, including the use of 2 ATA type III cards.

The proprietary, patented design ensures that interrupt driven cards, such as modems and communication cards, can be used without needing a second ISA slot.

Low cost single slot and standard dual or twin slot drives may be installed for font or rear use, or in an external box via flat ribbon cable.

In just 4 primary PCI expansion slots, up to 8 PC Cards may be used, giving improved system flexibility.

Physical specification

  • Industrial quality design.
  • High reliability 68 pin PCMCIA compliant, static protected, connectors with card eject buttons are used.
  • Standard Types I, II and III cards, including 3V series, are supported.  (3V on some models only.)
  • Operating temperature range: 0-50 C
  • Host Computer: Any true compatible Pentium PC or higher with PCI Bus.

Profile Adapter.

This model, from the P-Series range, features a PCMCIA Type III 3.5" drive bay mounted slot and a circuit board that conforms to the MD1 profile specification. It will allow you to use any Type I/II/III PCMCIA card.
NOTE: This product will only fit into a Low Profile PC chassis. It cannot be used in a regular sized PC expansion bay because of the miniaturized Low Profile PCI back bracket and short cables that it uses.

Compact Flash Type II ejector and a circuit board that conforms to the MD1 profile specification.  It will allow you to use any Compact Flash card such as IBM MicroDrives, Bluetooth cards, WLAN 802.11b cards, data acquisition cards, pager cards, GPS cards etc.

High quality single rear slot with single front bay adapter.

Addresses the need to have front access to a PCMCIA slot for use with cards like Flash media, or Finger Print recognition, while also having a rear slot for cards that are less frequently swapped, like Wireless LAN or Bluetooth.  The rear slot is 32-bit capable thus supports CardBus cards.
