Description

The CF241 sets a new standard in miniaturized Data Acquisition cards, having exceptional features in a tiny TypeII format Compact Flash format.  The card combines 24-bit A-to-D inputs with 12-bit D-to-A outputs and a host of digital features more commonly associated with full-size plug-in PCI DAQ boards.  To simplify software development the CF241 uses an industry standard register set allowing it to be supported by built-in Operating System drivers and thus avoiding the need for customized kernel level support.

Technical Features

24-bit 40KSPS Sigma-Delta ADC, with system sampling rates up 38.4KSPS.  Superb SFDR of over 120dB.  Up to 4 analogue inputs are available with 0 to 2.5V input range and over-voltage protection.  Built in channel scan logic and data rate decimation for ADC settling when in multi-channel mode.
Up to two 12-bit DACs (low speed type) with 0 to 2.5V output swing and series current limit protection.
Up to 4 Digital I/O lines with series current limit protection.
Flexible front-end architecture allows over 10 different combinations of analogue inputs, analogue outputs and digital I/O to be selected and routed to 9-pin interface connector.
A-to-D data flows into a large 8KSample FIFO on-card.  The FIFO can be run in continuous streaming mode (throughput is PC speed dependent) but can also serve as a capture buffer for triggered acquisitions. This is similar to a digital storage oscilloscope, with level and edge triggering against a digital 8-bit threshold in hardware, and programmable pre or post triggering to allow waveform capture before/after a trigger event.
16-bit counter / timer can use DIO line as input for PERIOD, FREQUENCY or PULSE WIDTH measurements using built in timing reference generators with 7 decades of adjustment.
DIOs can output timing reference signals.
Power and 2.5V reference is available at the edge connector for signal conditioning, powering sensors, load cells, bridges etc.
Card comes with Elan's Card Center Pro software with kernel driver and data handling module, plus a top level Win32 GUI with source code to act as a starting point for your own development.  Full hardware register data is provided to allow exact tailoring for bespoke applications.
Drivers for DOS, Win9x, Me, NT4, 2000, XP.  Windows CE and PocketPC support also included.  Note: DOS support requires Card and Socket Services e.g. SystemSoft or Award.
Automatic O.S. recognition and configuration.  Hot swappable CF+ compliant TypeII design.
Low power consumption: Typical 37mA at 5V fully active, with support for reduced power sleep modes of typ. 27mA, 12mA and 7mA at 5V under host application software control.  At 3.3V figures are 42mA, 24mA, 7mA and 4mA respectively .
Works at 3.3V and 5V, and can be used in laptops using a CF to PCMCIA adapter (sold separately).
Input and output channels can withstand voltages up to +15V/-10V with the card powered or not.
Supplied with 300mm Type46 cable.  Connector latches into CF Card for security. DB9 Male with female screwlocks for attachment to terminal equipment.
Also available with robust direct cable termination instead of Type46 cable, product code CF241R. MOQ may apply.
